V O Y E U R is a 10 track EP that encompasses topics which are generally perceived as ‘taboo’ in our ‘copy/paste/reblog’ hip-hop generation. V O Y E U R is love, politics, society, vanity, violence, self-hatred… *smoke break*

deadlyROBOTlove™ Interviews Presents: "Madam Kilo Kish!"

-When you hear the name "Kilo Kish" you may think of the Vibe Magazine Article on her, or maybe you've heard some of her work with OFWGKTA and her connections through Harlem's own, ASAP MOB. If your a seasoned veteran on the lovely artist you may have heard her work from her group "KKK", or the new track produced by OFWGKTA's own "The Internet" duo entitled "Navy" that's making waves in the music world. However, I doubt that you or anyone knows the complete story, until today of course. Ladies & Gentlemen, deadlyROBOTlove™ presents to you, "The Kilo Kish Story." Enjoy!

deadlyROBOTlove: For those who don't know, who's Kilo Kish?
Kilo: Kilo Kish is an experimental recording artist, the alias I use when releasing musical projects, and an all around good girl, kinda.

deadlyROBOTlove: Whats your background? Where are you from, who's your team, and what's your craft?
Kilo: I'm black...from Orlando, Florida. I have a group called "KKK" with my good friends Smash Simmons from Atlanta and Hotel Mel from New York where we currently reside! I also make music with Matt, Hal, and Syd which is what people may know me for thus far. My craft is to create things whether it be songs, designs, or artwork.

deadlyROBOTlove: What kind of music do you make?
Kilo: I make very special things. I create ideas and make songs. Whether you'd like to consider that music is your choice! Its quite flattering though if you do :)

deadlyROBOTlove: Whats your goal for your music and movement? Is it to get signed, is it to be heard, or are you doing something you love?
Kilo: I never really started working musically to become signed. In fact it wasn't even a thought that ever crossed my mind. I just wanted to explore different areas of my own personality and see how far I could push the limits of my own artistry. I'm a visual artist and designer at heart so its more so just an extension of that. I love making things. The medium doesn't really concern me as much.

deadlyROBOTlove: Who's your musical Influences, who are some dream collaborations for you?
Kilo: This question is always weird because I don't really listen to as much popular music as I probably should. I only hear current songs when I'm out dancing or at work listening to a dj. I don't even have an ipod. I don't own a television. I kind of live my musical life inside of a vacuum. I hear whatever beat I get and write the song then and there and don't really think about it much after that. I try to be as true to my own mind as much as possible. But like any designer, everyone has references... I just don't know what those are, sadly. I don't mean to evade the question :)

In my apartment I listen to 90's R&B and Michael Jackson. I get the rundown from my manager J.Scott on music news but I'm usually a month behind. Unless I watch world star...

deadlyROBOTlove: As far as fashion, what are some of your favorite & highly worn brands and designers?
Kilo: I'm definitely a jeans and tee kind of girl. I like rag and bone for those. I borrowed some super comfy tees from my old roommate Vaughn, indefinitely. Don't tell him :) I have some glittery black doc marten's shoes that I've been wearing everyday for the last month with white socks, channeling MJ. Everything in between I get at topshop. I have a big black bag from Alexander Wang that I really love...

deadlyROBOTlove: How do you feel about the current state of style, arts, and whats popular in the culture today?
Kilo: I have nothing bad to say. I like that people are confident in their abilities and inability just the same. I wouldn't say that I'm the most lyrical "rapper" but someone likes it apparently. That's all that matters I suppose, Finding what works for you. I think all artists go back in fourth in their minds about what's going to be the thing that sets them apart. Visual artists and musicians alike. The moment that you stop thinking about it, it becomes apparent.

deadlyROBOTlove: Back to music, whats going on with you right now? And current projects or releases we can know about?
Kilo: I'm working on the Homeschool EP with matt, hal, and syd. I'm also working with smash and mel on some long awaited "KKK".

deadlyROBOTlove: Can you leave us with a brief message from you to the people?
Kilo: A motto I live by is "Work hard and be nice to people". Make things. Don't be lazy, There's joy in work definitely. Be a lover. Love everyone and be loved by everyone. Simple.

"Le End!"

Kanye West announces "DONDA" design company.

Via Hypebeast,

"Kanye West has announced the launch of his new design company, called DONDA, set to create “products and experiences” for people. The company will encompass 22 different divisions, including architects, graphic designers, directors, producers, social media experts, publishers, lawyers, nutritionists, scientists, doctors, teachers, A&R’s, etc. Through numerous tweets, Yeezy revealed that he intends to “help simplify and aesthetically improve everything we see hear, touch, taste and feel.”

The multi-faceted artist further clarified recent reports about his upcoming clothing line for women by negating that it would be named “DW” after his mother, Dr. Donya West, “The name of the line is Kanye West not DW,…the DW was a design element placed on the invite in homage to my mom.” All the proceeds from from hit albums like his latest with Jay-Z, Watch The Throne have been invested in his entire endeavor within the fashion world, “You guys might think I have some type of backing for my line but I don’t,” Kanye said. “I did the first fashion show out of my own pocket and used the money I made touring to follow my passion. I’ve been working at this for 8 years now.”

In addition, he offered a personal recount on his deep dedication in fashion, asserting that his international reputation has been rather an obstacle than help,
““For the first 16 or 17 years of my life the only thing I knew about my woman’s clothing was what my Mom would wear. I guess some critics would joke that I still don’t know anything LOL. The teachers said I couldn’t focus… I used to get kicked out of class for bringing dirty mags and drawing Nikeys in 4th grade…Being a celebrity has afforded me many opportunities but has also boxed me in creatively,” Kanye revealed. “What good is fame and prestige if you can’t use it to help people… I want to help by doing what I know how to do best .. create.””

Furthermore, Kanye stated that he intends to reshape the American school system, which he says was “designed to turn people into factory workers.” That includes starting a summer school with director Spike Jonze. “There are so many broken systems from the economy to school systems jail systems… we need experts for this.” Ambitious plans indeed. Leave your thoughts below."
